A recent report has confirmed that PlayStation Vue, which is Sony’s streaming TV service, is raising prices again. Sony is raising prices for all PlayStation Vue multi-channel plans by $5 USD, according to reports.
Our news sources have reported that the users who are existing subscribers need not pay extra charges until they receive their first billing cycle after July 31. On the other hand, new users and subscribers will have to pay extra charges for the services.
Recently Dwayne Benefield, general manager of PlayStation Vue wrote a blog post, and in one of the posts mentioned: “Prices are going up in response to the rising annual costs of available content. We constantly evaluate each deal to ensure we continue to deliver the content you want while considering the overall value of each package,” he explained.
Benefield further added that Sony is looking forward to making PlayStation Vue “the premier destination for live TV streaming,” and that is the sole reason that why the company is sticking with PlayStation Vue.
Talking about the services that PlayStation Vue provide to its customers. The service is currently available in the United States, and it features a lot of plans that includes channels like “HBO, FX, ESPN, the NFL Network, and HGTV.” Besides the said channels, the packages also include other 650 local stations which depend upon the locations of the subscribers.
Not only Sony has raised the prices of its PlayStation Vue plans and packages, but there are reports that the company has also raised PlayStation Vue pricing by USD 5 a year ago this month. We have reports that the latest price hike that Sony has introduced is due to Sony reaching new licensing deals with NBCUniversal, AMC Networks, WarnerMedia, and Discovery.
