Amazon Game Studios lays off dozens of its employees during E3

On Friday Amazon Game Studios confirmed that it laid off its employees this week. Amazon laid off its employees during the world’s biggest gaming conference, E3 2019, according to the reports. Amazon Game Studios is one of the leading gaming studios in the world which was launched in 2012. The studio since then is making games including New World, The Grand Tour Game and Crucible. The company has its studios situated in San Diego and Orange County, California, and at Amazon’s HQ in Seattle.

“Amazon Game Studios is reorganizing some of our teams to allow us to prioritize development of New World, Crucible and new unannounced projects we’re excited to reveal in the future,” an Amazon spokesperson told one of the leading news channels in an emailed statement.

At present, there have been no reports regarding how many employees have been affected by the job cut, neither did Amazon mentioned that how many people lost their job during the laying off period.

Besides this, the spokesperson to the company during the interaction with the news reporters shared that the company is currently working to align resources to match evolving, long-range priorities.

“Amazon is deeply committed to games and continues to invest heavily in Amazon Game Studios, Twitch, Twitch Prime, AWS, our retail businesses and other areas within Amazon,” the spokesperson said.

The people who are affected by the job cut will surely find other jobs inside the company itself. We have reports that Xbox Game Studios is currently hiring a lot of employees so there are chances that the people who have lost their jobs will find their future endeavors at Xbox Game Studios.
