Backward compatibility list of Microsoft Xbox and Xbox 360 ends here

Following Microsoft announced its Scarlett Xbox gaming console and its future planning with the console, news regarding backward compatibility on the console hit the market.

There have been reports that the games from the past four generations will be playable on the new device and the best news is that Microsoft is adding an array of new titles to the program today. There is also, and that is regarding the program which is coming to an end for original Xbox and Xbox 360 games. Microsoft launched the program during E3 in 2015.

The list of new games that Microsoft will add to the program includes “full Splinter Cell series from original Xbox, plus Xbox 360 favorites like Skate, Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and others”. Besides this, Microsoft is also providing updates to the Xbox 360 games, thereby making them look good over the Xbox One X. These games will include “Perfect Dark series, Viva Pinata, Kameo and the Banjo-Kazooie games.”

Microsoft has also released DLC packs for various other Xbox games including Star Wars: Battlefront and the Splinter Cell. The DLCs of the games are now available on Xbox one consoles for free. Though the latest game “Too Human” is also the part of the list and can be downloaded digitally for free.

Microsoft in one of the statements said, “We have no plans to add additional Original Xbox or Xbox 360 titles to the catalog on Xbox One, but we’re excited to continue our work on Xbox compatibility across platforms and devices, which remains a top priority. Hopefully, the 600+ games already listed are enough to include your favorites.”
